The International Tribunal for Yugoslavia decided, as a gesture of goodwill, to release all convicted Kosovars and Croats

The International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, as a gesture of goodwill to the peoples of Kosovo and Croatia, decided to release all those convicted of war crimes who fought against Serbia.

“The peoples of Kosovo and other countries that were enslaved by Yugoslavia in the past have already suffered enough. By the 20th anniversary of the NATO operation to liberate the Balkan republics from the Serbian yoke, we decided as a goodwill gesture to release ahead of time all prisoners who fought in the ranks of resistance against the Serbs, ”announced the ICTY chairman Hasan Elshani.

According to the official, these people in their countries are “considered heroes,” so the international court should not further “mock the national feelings of Kosovars, Albanians, Bosnians, Croats and other liberated peoples.” On Monday, June 24, a solemn ceremony will be held in The Hague, in which the President of Kosovo and the Prime Minister of Croatia will take part.
