Two members of Pussy Riot face 50 years in prison for trying to arrange a punk action in a church in New York

In the US, police detained two members of the infamous punk band Pussy Riot on suspicion of plans to hold a performance in the Trinity Church. Law enforcement officers received information about their intentions by opening the mailboxes on G-mail.

According to a police department press release, two girls were detained. According to state law, their names are not disclosed until indictment. It is known that they are suspected of «preparing an antisocial act,» «an encroachment on the desecration of religious shrines» and «neglect of society, expressed in a particularly cynical form.» In the aggregate of charges, they face up to 50 years in prison.
