Facebook executive Mark Zuckerberg at the Internet and Media Correctness conference presented the Come out! (“Go out [to the light]!” — Ed.), Which automatically identifies users with unconventional sexual orientation and marks their pages with a special sign, for which the pink triangle is chosen.
According to Zuckerberg, the user cannot remove the triangle from his page, the process of adding and removing tags will be entirely automatic and therefore unbiased. The goal of the campaign is to increase the openness of the society and tolerance towards the LGBT community. The orientation of users will be calculated automatically based on the analysis of their activities in social networks and services integrated into Facebook. In addition, face recognition technology will be used on LGBT camera records.
“We have already launched our system in test mode in some countries. In just one day, 300,000 inhabitants of Luxembourg, the Vatican, Belgium, Germany and Ireland were marked with triangles. From today, we are launching the system in the entire social network, including the Russian-speaking segment. So that friends and relatives will soon find out that their acquaintance is a representative of LGBT people, the social network will send them relevant notifications, ”Zuckerberg said.
In support of the Facebook action, Commander of the Netherlands Fleet Second Fleet Vice Admiral Rita (Richard) Boorbroek spoke out.
